Slightly hungover and full to bursting point with greasy food thanks to the local breakfast shop in Chester, myself, Laura, Geoff, Renee and Chris jumped into the car and off we went to Beeston Castle. Despite it being overcast the previous day, this day was truly wonderful with not a cloud in the sky.
The countryside around Beeston Castle is some of the finest around. On a clear day, you can see all the way to Snowdonia, Lancashire, Shropshire... and many more counties. Its one of the great appeals of visiting such a high point in one of the flattest counties in England.

Although you have to pay to get into the grounds of the castle, you can have a full afternoon there wondering around the grounds, taking in the breathtaking views and, in my opinion, the cost it worth it just to meet the lady who works in the gift shop. I won't spoil it for you, but the word 'weird' applies in full. Enjoy the photographs.
