This location is one of the hidden gems in the Manchester area. To drive past it, you wouldn't think there was much there, but there is in fact mile after mile of footpath through bog and marsh land which houses many different and divers species which has giving this area the status of Sites of Special Scientific Interest.
As it was the middle of winter, albeit a mild one, there was very little wildlife running or flapping around. We heard a few birds, saw a squirrel or two, but that was about it. Apparently, in the summer there are tens of different species rare butterfly in the area, as well as rare plants and the endangered Crested Newt. I hope to visit again when it gets a bit warmer, or if it snows. Lets face it, it's not far out of my way. its on my way to work. Enjoy the photographs.
