Clitheroe Castle

Took a drive up to Clitheroe in Lancashire to have a mooch around the castle ruins there and have a look at the museum there. Overlooked by the infamous Pendle Hill (the home of the witches), Clitheroe is a very pretty little town. A mixture of ancient and industrial heritage (along with a clear and warm spring day) and castle made for brilliant view of the surrounding countryside.

The museum mostly focuses on the unique geological make up of Clitheroe and its surrounding areas, including details of how the impressive Pendle Hill was formed by the sliding glaciers during one of the many ice ages and the way the tectonic plates shifted. Laura was quite excited about this when she discovered that there was once a continent names after her; Laurasia .
